Together with Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, it forms Africa’s most diverse, incredible and most spectacular eco-system and possibly the world’s top safari big game viewing ecosystem. Renowned for its exceptional wildlife across the vast plains Mara in their natural habitat.
Its favored with the four terrains; 1. Ngama Hills, eastward with sand soil & leafy bushes favoring black rhinos. 2. Oloololo Escarpment; forming the western boundary, rising to magnificent plateaus. 3. Mara Triangle; bordering Mara river with lush grasslands & woodlands for masses of game and wildebeest. 4. Central Plains; largest part of the reserve, scattered bushes, boulders rolling grasslands which attracts the plains game. It is here that the marvelous migration takes place annually that was listed among the seven natural wonders of the world. Most animals sighted in this migrations are about 1.5 million wildebeests, 0.5 million Thomson Gazelles, 0.2 million Zebras, 97,000 Topis and about 18,000 Elands. The migration is readily sighted on every visit but we cannot guarantee sighting the spectacular Mara river crossing because that is a natural occurrence unknown when and at what part of the river it will happen.
