Located at the heart of East Africa, Angama Mara is a lodge that redefines luxury. Built high above the floor of Africa’s Great Rift Valley, it offers a 180° view of the Masai Mara, considered by many as the continent’s loveliest game reserve.
Famously featured in the Out of Africa movie, Angama’s dominance is unparalleled and experiences are out of this world. Your holiday stay at Angama almost guarantees an unforgettable experience, one you will live to talk about.
Some of the excursions are as listed:
Mara Game Drive. Safe to say that Mara is unlike any other game reserve on the planet, its game beckons. Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant, and it is for this reason a visitor hardly misses to see the big five (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino) not to forget the Great Migration, although, we cannot guarantee seeing the spectacular Mara river crossing as it is a natural occurrence. A guided safari down to the Mara triangle, an integral part of the Greater Mara Ecosystem, offers a wonderful opportunity for birding and game watching.
Community Visits. Meet one of Kenya’s oldest surviving communities that call this corner of the country home. Learn about Maasai people and how they have managed to retain their traditions and heritage in this day and age of modern culture. Visit their infamous Manyattas’ and learn how to bead. All this at an extra cost of usd 20 per person payable to the lodge directly.
Balloon Safaris. Sail away in the morning breeze to new heights. The soft breeze takes the balloon towards the Tanzanian border, with the typical flight path along the Mara River and its adjoining forest, and over the open plains beyond. This is an unmatched safari, even the lions look up in surprise as one sails on by, and all the animals of the Mara are visible from the air. A flight normally lasts around one hour, and ends with a sometimes-bumpy landing amidst the termite mounds, all part of the adventure. This comes at an extra cost of usd 490 per person subject to change.
